Andrew Lee is the founder and President of the Leading Negotiation Institute, an institute based in Shanghai and Beijing focusing on negotiation & business consulting in China.

A Fellow of Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and Stanford Law School’s Gould Center for Conflict Resolution, he has led workshops on negotiation across Greater China and also on business negotiations with Chinese counterparts in the United States, Singapore, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Japan and Korea.

He has worked with the Chinese Ministry of Justice training court officials and lawyers.

In 2011, he was appointed a World Bank mediator for Greater Asia.

Prior to his present role in consulting and training, he practiced law for eight years in Australia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Switzerland in the fields of commercial arbitration, corporate and criminal law.

He has published a series of articles and books on negotiation and dispute resolution in both English and Mandarin, including the Mandarin version ofBreaking Robert’s Rules (with Professor Lawrence Susskind of MIT) andRethinking Negotiation Teaching: Innovations for Context and Culture(published by Hamline University DRI Press).

Born in Australia, he first arrived on China’s shores 28 years ago. He holds first class honours degrees in Law from the University of Sydney and in Psychology from the University of Adelaide. He also holds a Masters in Chinese Law from Peking University. He speaks English and Mandarin.

The Leading Negotiation Institute

Founded in 2007, the Leading Negotiation Institute has a mission to promote the practice, theory and teaching of negotiation and dispute resolution in Mainland China.

LNI partners with Chinese business, law and public policy schools to bring opportunities for Chinese scholars and practitioners to share and learn from overseas counterparts. LNI has worked with Harvard Law School, Stanford Law School and MIT amongst others in exchanging students and faculty.

LNI delivers corporate consulting programs to overseas organizations seeking better negotiation results in the Chinese market.

Finally, LNI works with Chinese government institutions in developing more efficient dispute management systems.
