Biography
David Kleiman is a real estate developer, educator and attorney based in Palo Alto, California. He is the President and Co-Founder of D2 Realty Services, Inc., a national real estate development firm engaged in commercial development in Illinois and California.
In addition to managing his development projects, Mr. Kleiman teaches a real estate law course at Stanford Law School and an architecture course at the Stanford School of Engineering. Mr. Kleiman has been a guest lecturer in the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as well as the Stanford Center for Professional Development.
D2 Realty Services recently completed a two-tower multi-family development joint-venture known as Alta Grand Central Chicago. The company’s most recent office development is located at 250 South Wacker Drive in Chicago’s loop. That project is the current world headquarters for MillerCoors Brewing Company. Mr. Kleiman’s California work includes Palo Alto’s first net-zero electric mixed-use building, a project which received the 2018 AIA Honor Award for Silicon Valley.
Mr. Kleiman received his B.S. in Psychology with honors from the University of Illinois, and a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law. After beginning his legal practice at Katten Muchin in Chicago, he was later in-house counsel to JMB Realty, where he managed financing matters. Just prior to forming his first development company, Mr. Kleiman was the general counsel of a national real estate syndicator.
Mr. Kleiman is admitted to practice in Illinois, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Urban Land Institute, the American Institute of Architects, and Stanford Professionals in Real Estate (SPIRE).
