Lisa Pearson currently teaches written advocacy skills in the Advanced Legal Writing: Litigation course. She is also the Co-Director of the Kirkwood Moot Court Competition, a course in which 2L and 3L students prepare briefs and oral arguments for hypothetical appeals in cases involving current constitutional issues. The course is designed as a competition of twenty teams, who argue before panels of local attorneys and judges from around the country.

Ms. Pearson is a member of both the California and Utah Bar and did civil litigation, including appellate work, in the Utah State Attorney General’s office and firms in Salt Lake City, Utah and Palo Alto, California. A graduate of the University of Utah Law School, she earned a JSM degree at Stanford Law School, while she was a teaching fellow for 1L students.

In addition, Ms. Pearson serves on the Board of the Beechwood School in East Menlo Park, CA. She co-authored “Innovation and Accommodation: The Legal Status of Women in Territorial Utah, 1850-1896” in Women in Utah History.
