Biography
Ms. Garcia Alvarez, from Spain, sits as a presiding Judge of the Employment Division at the High Court of Justice in Madrid. She has been a judge since 1987. In 2010, Judge Garcia Alvarez with the support of The General Council of the Judiciary designed and implemented a Court-Annexed Mediation Pilot Program for First Instance Employment Courts, which she leads since then. In 2012 Judge Garcia Alvarez was selected as a Weinstein International Fellow JAMS Foundation, visiting scholar at University of California, Hastings College of the Law and visiting scholar in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Dispute System Design at the Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program at Stanford Law School.
She has joined several mediation skill training programs and has published a series of articles both on Employment Law, mediation and dispute resolution.
