DESCRIPTION:Rockets\, satellites\, and space infrastructure cost billions to build and can take decades to recoup their initial investment. Venture capital has fueled much of the ongoing commercial space boom\, with larger institutions such as banks\, insurers\, and public markets also beginning to participate in the space economy. What will it take to finance the next generation of space ventures? \nJoin the Stanford Space Law Society for a conversation with Bruce Cahan\, a lecturer in Stanford’s Department of Management Science & Engineering and the d.school\, and a Stanford Law School CodeX Fellow. Bruce has spent more than a decade developing new tools for funding the space economy\, including space bonds and a proposed Space Commodities Exchange.
