Please join the Criminal Law Society in a unique conversation between opposing players in the criminal justice system— district attorneys and public defenders. Our event will bring together four SLS alums currently serving in San Francisco as either prosecutors or defense attorneys: Rachel Marshall (SLS ‘10) and Trevor Kempner (SLS ‘15), both from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, as well as Oliver Kroll (SLS ‘13) and Lilah Wolf (SLS ‘17) from the Public Defender’s Office. Moderated by Professor Robert Weisberg, the panel will discuss progressive prosecution, anxiety about “rising” crime in San Francisco, the relationship between public defenders and district attorneys, and the policy and personnel changes under the relatively new administrations of District Attorney Chesa Boudin and Public Defender Manohar Raju.
We will serve dinner at 6 PM, with the panel discussion kicking off at 6:15 PM. Please complete the RSVP form if you plan to attend.
