Interested in rule of law and international development? Come to this information session to learn more about the Afghanistan Legal Education Project and the application process. ALEP is a student-driven initiative that is part of Stanford Law School’s Rule of Law Program. Since 2007, ALEP has published ten textbooks about Afghan law intended for Afghan law students. ALEP just launched its latest book, Introduction to the Laws of Afghanistan (4th Ed).
SLS students can apply to join ALEP during the spring of their 1L or 2L year. During the following year, they partner closely with SLS faculty and the law department at the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) to create legal textbooks. SLS students also attend an international retreat to build relationships with AUAF faculty and students.
