Yamile Nesrala, Harvard Law (Class of ’13), will be giving a presentation for law students interested in the startup world. Yamile worked for Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher in New York for two years prior to joining a startup called CommonBond. She will discuss transitioning from Big Law into a startup, as well as CommonBond.
CommonBond is a leading marketplace lending platform that lowers the cost of student loans for borrowers and provides financial returns to investors. Started by three Wharton MBAs in 2011, the company is dedicated to delivering best-in-class student loan options with competitive pricing, a simple tech-enabled experience, and exceptional customer service, saving borrowers more than $14,000, on average, over the life of the loan. CommonBond has also pioneered the “1 for 1” model in financial services: For every degree fully funded on the CommonBond platform, the company funds the education of a child abroad for a year through a partnership with Pencils of Promise.
Lunch will be served.
