Osagie Obasogie is a professor of law at UC Hastings College of Law. He will be speaking on the IOM's recent recommendation to loosen restrictions on using prisoners in behavioral and biomedical research. In his talk, Professor Obasogie will provide an overview of ethical issues pertaining to using prisoners in scientific research, the unique history giving rise to current restrictions, and offer a critique of the IOM's recommendations to change course.
