In August 2015, the EPA announced the final Clean Power Plan, the US’s most ambitious effort to battle climate change and greenhouse gas emissions.  Join the Environmental Law Society and the Stanford Law School Energy Club for a panel discussion with Dan Lashof and Kevin Poloncarz about the Clean Power Plan, including its immediate and long-term implications, addressing questions such as: What, exactly, does the Clean Power Plan require of states?  What are the likely legal challenges that will arise?  Can a cap-and-trade system succeed as a compliance mechanism?

Dan Lashof is the Chief Operating Officer of NextGen Climate America Inc and a senior fellow of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s climate and clean air program.  Kevin Poloncarz is a partner in the Environment and Energy Practice of Paul Hastings, and he represents and advises clients in regulatory proceedings and administrative litigation including the EPA’s Clean Power Plan and Cross-State Air Pollution Rule.

The panel will be moderated by Professor Michael Wara.
