Stanford’s Environmental Law Society is proud to bring Unión de Afectados por Texaco (The Union of Peoples Affected by Texaco), an NGO comprised of lawyers, activists, and volunteers working to bring financial compensation and environmental remediation to the peoples of Ecuador affected by Texaco’s petroleum extraction. Part of UDAPT’s goal is to educate the US public on the state of affairs concerning the 23-year-long litigation against Texaco (now owned by Chevron Corporation), both because Chevron is a US company and because the US is often a large beneficiary of natural resource extraction.

Come meet with two of the leaders of this environmental justice group and learn more about this movement in the international sphere.
