Please join Stanford ACS & NLG on Tuesday, November 1 from 12:45-2:00 pm in Room 180 for a conversation with four Bay Area attorneys who have devoted their legal careers to driving forward progressive change. Our panelists include Easha Anand, the Edwin A. Heafey, Jr. Visiting Professor in Stanford’s Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, Sharon Terman, the Director of the Work and Family Program and a Senior Staff Attorney for Legal Aid at Work, Peter Calloway, a Public Defender at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, and Ari Freilich, the State Policy Director at Giffords Law Center.
This panel will explore how activist attorneys can successfully manage the stress and challenges that accompany their work. The panel will also discuss why fighting for change within the legal system is an effective form of advocacy even in the face of systemic resistance to change, unfavorable legal precedents, and issues with access to justice.
After the panel in Room 180, lunch will be served to RSVP’d attendees in Crocker Garden.
