Colombia is seen as a pioneer among Latin American nations in judicial reform, particularly for the tutela mechanism, which allows any citizen to file a claim alleging a violation of their fundamental rights. Justice Natalia Angel-Cabo, a Constitutional Court Magistrate and law professor at Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, will speak about the Colombian legal system, efforts at reforming it, including the tutela, as well as her experience on the Constitutional Court and its unique position in the Colombian judicial system.
