Lunch with Josh Koskoff

- This event has passed.
Join the Plaintiffs’ Law Association for lunch with Josh Koskoff, a legend of the plaintiffs’ bar whose work representing victims of mass shootings has generated substantial, unprecedented settlements, and changed the law on immunity for gun manufacturers. In 2022, he reached a historic $73 million settlement with Remington, the gun manufacturer, on behalf of victims of the Sandy Hook shooting, and in 2023, along with his partners, secured a ~$1.5 billion verdict against Alex Jones for defaming Sandy Hook families. In 2024, he filed a suit against Meta, Activision and Daniel Defense for their coordinated attempt to groom shooters to live out video-game fantasies in the real world on behalf of the Uvalde shooting victims.
Josh has also pioneered novel lawsuits in other areas as well, including representing descendants of enslaved persons against Harvard for displaying and licensing images of their relatives, photos which were taken without consent and which were used to reinforce ideas of racial inferiority. In 2022, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court overturned the district court’s partial dismissal and allowed the plaintiffs to bring emotional distress claims. And just this past year, Josh represented dozens of women whose eggs were destroyed by a Yale-New Haven Hospital employee who put them in saline solution, which resulted in a substantial settlement.
Josh represents the third generation of Koskoffs at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder, where his father and grandfather practiced, and which has long had a history of pursuing social justice via the law, including representing Black Panthers in a seminal trial in New Haven in 1970 and the case that was at the center of the 2017 movie “Marshall,” starring Chadwick Boseman as Thurgood Marshall, whose script was written by his father and brother.
Lunch will be served to those who RSVP.
