Over the past year, Native Americans have proven themselves to be a force in American politics, impacting the election results in key states like Arizona and Wisconsin and pushing for representation at the highest levels of the federal government, most visibly with the historic nomination of Rep. Deb Haaland (Pueblo of Laguna) for Secretary of the Interior. Come join Stanford NALSA as we hear from a panel of Native experts, who will discuss the details of the impact of Native voters in the 2020 election, the outlook for the Biden Administration’s engagement with tribes and formulation of Indian Affairs policy, and the prospect of finally having an Indigenous person lead the federal department that oversees relations with Native peoples and public lands.
Please RSVP to receive the Zoom link for the event.
