Lord Sumption is a former justice on the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and a renowned historian. He has written extensively on the rule of law and democracy. His lecture\, Democracy and the Rule of Law: The View from Europe\, will address the retreat of the rule of law in Europe and in the United States. \nThis event is open to the public and will be offered both in-person and online.
