SUMMARY:Policy Lab Workshop: Writing Policy Reports\, Short Memos\, & Briefing Papers
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to organize research and data for compelling policy memos and briefing papers that illustrate underlying findings and principles. This workshop will highlight examples from past Policy Lab projects with attention to the differences between legal advocacy and policy analysis. You will learn general principles grounded in Robert K. Yin’s foundational works on writing policy case studies\, including how to focus on process over outcome\, building a strong contextual frame for the central issues\, and extrapolating underlying principles for next steps in policy research. This workshop is part of Elements of Policy Analysis (Law 7846) and open to all in the Stanford community.
