From BLM uprisings in cities all over the world following the on-screen killings of Black men and women, to anti-Asian violence in the wake of COVID-19, to the verdicts in the Chauvin prosecution, the past year has had a pivotal impact on issues of race and racism. The Center for Racial Justice invites all Stanford Law School community members for a multimodal night of collective remembrance, connection, and storytelling, emcee’d by Lisa Muloma (SLS ’21) and Arielle Andrew (SLS ’21).
We invite everyone to share a race-related memory or realization of the past year, in whatever form you deem appropriate (videos, photos, art, personal stories, social media posts, emails, journal entries, quotes – all is welcome). Please email your contribution to may_20_.13w2pvxg9t6caz1d@u.box.com. We may curate the submissions into a collage or other format that we can share with the community. You will also have an opportunity to share your thoughts or work live on May 20th, in a format similar to First Person.
