This training will be led by SLS’s very own A.D. Lewis (’21) who will cover general skills for working with incarcerated people including, but not limited to, appropriate etiquette (e.g., language and behaviors to adopt and avoid) and effective mindsets (e.g., recognition of one’s own biases, stereotypes, and assumptions about prisoners). The training is mandatory for leaders of our (virtual) in-custody reading and creative writing groups. Students participating in the Prisoner Legal Services (PLS) Pro Bono are also strongly encouraged to attend. Snacks will be provided!
