The SLS Musical [hereinafter “MuSLSical”] is an annual tradition that no pandemic can thwart.
But we need YOU. Sign up for a 15-minute audition slot for the week of February 6th here! (And if these don’t work for you, email us to figure out another time.)
Auditions (and the show itself) are very relaxed. We’ll have you read a short bit from the script and, if you are interested in a vocal solo, sing 16 bars/ ~30 seconds of music of your choosing (can be anything: a musical, pop music, a Christmas carol, etc.). Everyone who wants to be in the muSLSical will be in it!
We are planning on in-person, live show in May, but this may change given COVID conditions.
Time Commitment: There will be a variety of roles of varying time commitments, from main characters (that will be in most scenes and quite a few songs) to supporting characters to members of the chorus. We will ask how much time you can commit during the audition. The lowest commitment (chorus) is attending rehearsal at least 1.5 hours per week for the first five weeks of the spring quarter, along with heavy rehearsals (and at least two full dress rehearsals) during tech week.
Timeline: We rehearse for the first five weeks of the spring quarter, have tech week starting May 1, and perform the live show on May 7th!
If you have any questions about the muSLSical or auditions, please email this year’s Producers — Sarah Simon, Marni Morse, Coley Navarro, Nathan Tauger, and Jenny Xin!
