Please join the Stanford Federalist Society as we welcome Jonathan Mitchell, who will be speaking about interpreting the Fourteenth Amendment. Lunch will be served.

Professor Mitchell currently teaches at George Mason University School of Law. After graduating from law school, he was a law clerk for Judge J. Michael Luttig of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and for Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court of the United States. He then served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Legal Counsel of the United States Department of Justice from August 2003 through January 2006. Prior to joining the faculty at George Mason, Professor Mitchell was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Chicago Law School from 2006 through 2008. His research and teaching interests include national security law, criminal law and procedure, and federal habeas corpus.
