Dr. Kaush Arha (SLS '05) served as the Senior Advisor Transition and Senior Coordinator Agriculture at US Embassy Kabul Afghanistan. He advised Embassy leadership on the transition to Afghan leadership, U.S. strategy for economic development assistance to Afghanistan, and anti-corruption and governance efforts in Afghan institutions. He directed U.S. agricultural assistance to Afghanistan across civil-military agencies to meet the goals of agricultural development, counter-insurgency, and counter narcotics. Mr Arha will discuss U.S. engagement in Afghanistan and its effectiveness in addressing the major development and governance pillars of Afghan society in preparation for transition to Afghan lead in 2014.
