DESCRIPTION:This panel brings together leading constitutional scholars to discuss executive power and its relationship to the rule of law in the contemporary United States. Using the presidency of Donald Trump as a general point of reference\, the conversation will explore how executive authority is defined\, exercised\, and constrained within the constitutional system. Panelists will reflect on the interaction between the presidency and other institutions\, including courts and Congress. The discussion will be open-ended\, engaging with broader questions about constitutional limits\, the conditions under which executive power expands or contracts\, and the challenges of maintaining accountability in periods of political polarization.
