True Conviction: Seeking Justice After Trial

- This event has passed.
Stanford Program in Law and Society presents this lunch panel discussion in January 2019. Despite the best efforts of legal professionals, mistakes happen in the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases and can result tragically in wrongful convictions. Join Professor Lawrence Marshall and the Northern California Innocence Project for a conversation with award-winning filmmaker Jamie Meltzer about his latest documentary True Conviction. Christopher Scott, a Texas exoneree who now leads a detective agency in Dallas helping inmates, will also participate, sharing his story and vision about the battle against wrongful convictions. The panelists will discuss what can be done to identify and prevent them from occurring.
