The Levin Center invites you to join us for an exciting virtual brown bag lunch conversation with Nicole Daro (SLS ’10), Legal Director of National Nurses United (NNU), Thursday, Feb, 11th at 1pm PST. She will be sharing her professional journey since law school, talking about the work she does today, and opening the floor to questions. Please see her short bio below and register here.
Nicole Daro (SLS 2010) is Legal Director of National Nurses United (NNU), the largest union of registered nurses in the United States, based in Oakland, CA. NNU advocates for nurses through collective bargaining in the workplace, and promotes “Nurses Values” in the community. This includes fighting for economic equality, racial justice, and Medicare for All, among other goals. Nicole serves on the Board of Directors of the AFL-CIO’s Union Lawyers Alliance, and is a member of its Diversity and Racial Justice Committee. Prior to working at NNU, Nicole clerked for the Honorable Lawrence K. Karlton in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. Before law school, Nicole worked for several labor unions, including the national AFL-CIO, UFCW, and the Carpenters’ Union, helping to organize and represent airport workers, farmworkers, and construction workers.
