Marina Hsieh

Biography
Marina Hsieh is a Senior Fellow at Santa Clara University School of Law, where she has taught Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Leadership for Lawyers, and Professional Responsibility. She directs Santa Clara Law’s John Paul Stevens Fellowship program and served as the first Faculty Director of Diversity from 2017-2021 and Assistant Dean for Academic & Professional Development from 2005-2011.
Prior to joining the Santa Clara law faculty, Hsieh has also taught at the law schools of the University of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, University of San Francisco, University of Maryland, Columbia University, and New York University. Before becoming a full-time academic, she was a civil rights lawyer for the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, Inc. in New York. Hsieh clerked for Hon. Louis Pollak, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and Hon. John Paul Stevens, Supreme Court of the United States.
