Stanford Law alumni Rodkangyil Orion Danjuma (’10), Caroline Jackson (’11) and Jordana Mosten (’10) have been selected as three of the 2012 Skadden Fellows, a group of 28 graduating law students and judicial clerks who are devoting their professional careers to public interest work.

The Skadden Fellowship program was started in 1988 in honor of the firm’s 40th anniversary and in recognition of the dire need for greater funding for graduating law students and judicial clerks who are dedicating their careers to providing legal services to underserved members of society. Skadden Fellows are provided with a salary and fringe benefits for a two-year period. To date, the firm has funded nearly 650 fellows under the program.

For his fellowship, Mr. Danjuma will be working with the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project in San Francisco, providing direct legal services, impact litigation and policy advocacy to remove barriers to public education for low-income immigrant children and parents in Northern California and the Central Valley.

Ms. Jackson will join the National Association for the Deaf in Silver Spring, MD, conducting impact litigation to ensure access to classroom communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students by enforcing their right to qualified American Sign Language interpreters and ASL-based instruction.

Ms. Mosten will be working with Public Counsel in Los Angeles, providing comprehensive legal services to immigrant survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking in the Los Angeles area, with a focus on immigration relief, public benefits and family law.
