Assisting Parties Civiles at the ECCC

Christie Wan (’21), Alyssa Epstein (’21), and Edward Crouse (’21) assisted in the research and drafting of an appeals brief on behalf of victims appearing before the Extraordinary Chambers of the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). The defendant in the case was a member of the Cambodian Communist Party who held regional leadership positions where systematic abuses occurred. The brief focuses on a jurisdictional split issue and, if successful, will enable survivors of the Khmer Rouge regime to participate meaningfully in the ECCC process.
