Veterans and veterans benefits administrators: seeking your help

Americans in uniform have set aside their personal aspirations and safety to procure and protect the freedoms established by the Founders of our nation. To show our debt and gratitude to America’s patriots, the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) offers a variety of programs and services.

One such program provides benefits to veterans and their survivors for disabilities and death attributable to their service. While this program is successful, mistakes are sometimes made, and the process of administering claims has a significant backlog. The VA has the goal of improving benefits claims processing accuracy and decreasing the disability claims backlog. Our research is aimed at developing information processing technology that contributes to this goal.
