Jensen Promoted
to Professor of
the Practice of Law

Erik G. Jensen was promoted to professor of the practice of law in spring of 2012. Jensen is the director and faculty advisor of the law school’s Rule of Law Program, which encompasses student-driven projects in Afghanistan, Bhutan, Timor-Leste, and Iraq that, with strong local partnerships, develop legal tools in emerging democracies.

His teaching and research activities explore various dimensions of reform aimed at strengthening the rule of law, including the political economy of reform; the connections between legal systems and the economies, politics and societies in which they are situated; and the relationship of Islam to the rule of law. Jensen is also an affiliated faculty member at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) at Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for
International Studies.
