Persily Directed Election Report and Elected Member of the American Law Institute

Nathaniel Persily, JD ’98, James B. McClatchy Professor of Law, served as Senior Research Director of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration.  In January, Persily and the Commission met with President Obama to deliver their Report, “The American Voting Experience: Report and Recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration.” The commission was formed last year to help identify best practices in election administration and promote the efficient administration of elections. Persily was also elected to the American Law Institute in October 2013.  A nationally recognized expert in the “law of democracy,” he focuses on voting rights, election law, and political parties. He is currently editing a volume on party polarization to be released by Cambridge Press by the end of the year.
