Law and Memory Conference – A Wrap-Up
On April 1, the Stanford Center for Law and the Biosciences and the Stanford Interdisciplinary Group on Neuroscience and Society (SIGNS), with financial support from Stanford Law School, NeuroVentures (an initiative of Stanford’s Bio-X Program), and the Stanford Institute for Neuroinnovation and Translational Neuroscience (SINTN), held a full day conference on Law and the Memory.
Eight scientists and four lawyers or law professors explored our increased understanding of the neuroscience of human memory and how that might affect the law, particularly with regard to techniques for detecting memories or manipulating memories. About 150 people attended – and we believe that they all left with more knowledge . . . and more and more interesting questions . . . about this field.
