CodeX Book Club, Chapter 10: Susskind x2

Richard Susskind’s latest book, “The Future of the Professions: How Technology Will Transform The Work of Human Experts,” (Oxford University Press) has a surprise: It’s his first book that is co-authored with his son, Daniel Susskind, a lecturer in Economics at Balliol College, Oxford. Richard’s past books have focused on the legal profession, the new book expands the agenda to include other professions.

In the new book, the Susskinds spread their wings beyond the legal industry. They explore several professions, including health, education, divinity, journalism, management consulting, tax and audit, and architecture, and how technology and artificial intelligence will change their operations.

Richard is a very familiar name at CodeX. In 2014, he presented the keynote, “The Future of Lawyers: From Denial to Disruption,” at our FutureLaw conference.

Check out my interview  with Richard Susskind at Bloomberg BNA Big Law Business, where he talks about how they decided to write the book together; how they chose which professions to explore; the lessons learned; the biggest surprise; and what’s next!
