Legal Management Magazine Showcases CodeX
In the February edition of Legal Management, Jobst Elster (Head of Content and Legal Market Strategy at InsideLegal) writes the cover story about “Legal Technology Startups: From Trend to the Norm,”* and discusses CodeX.
Says Elster: “…the fact is that in 2016 legal startups equipped to solve legal technology, business, process, productivity and legal access problems are here to stay—some thriving and ripe for big-ticket mergers and acquisitions (M&A), others firmly entrenched with technology incubators and venture capitalists, and others struggling to get funded and noticed.”

In the article, Elster discusses the ALM partnership with CodeX, and mentions our 2015 and 2016 CodeX Pavilions and “lightning rounds” at Legaltech New York.He quotes our Executive Director Roland Vogl: “The next generation of legal innovation will likely develop from companies that provide computable law, where technology can process legal rules and automate legal decision making, or where contracts are smart and operationalized.”
Writes Elster: “CodeX is a household name when it comes to legal innovation and encouraging startups to showcase their technologies and services. The core Codex group of advisors, students and supporters meet every week on campus and, according to Vogl, have had 50 to 70 startup demos and presentations over the last year. “

The article also discusses and quotes Basha Rubin, CEO, Priori Legal; Avvo’s Director of Industry Relations Dan Lear (also a blogger, legal tech meet-up founder [e.g., Ignite] and legal hacker); CEO Rob Saccone at SeyfarthLean Consulting; Fastcase CEO Ed Walters, and others.
