kCura, Deloitte Acquisitions

Busy news day today: Two significant acquistions announced today: kCura has bought Content Analyst Company and 2) Deloitte has acquired the business of Canada startup Conduit Law and has launched Deloitte Conduit Law. Both were reported today on Bloomberg BNA’s Big Law Business.

kCura/Content Analyst Company: “In e-Discovery Software Shift, kCura Acquires Content Analyst.” Gabe Friedman, editorial manager at BBBLB, notes that Chicago-based kCura (based in Chicago) did not disclose the terms of the deal.

“In an interview, kCura’s president and CEO Andrew Sieja said the acquisition will allow kCura to expand Relativity’s analytics features, and also to keep the engineers at Content Analyst focused more tightly on the e-Discovery market – as the product was also being used by companies in talent management and other sectors.”

‘What this is really going to do is allow us to innovate faster,’ said Sieja.”

Deloitte/Conduit Law” Making Foray Into Canada, Deloitte Acquires Conduit Law.” Yours truly reports.

“Now called Deloitte Conduit Law, the new entity will offer outsourced lawyers to support corporate legal teams and law firms, helping them meet business needs and deliver short-term projects, according to the press release.”

Here’s some additional info received after the BBBLB story was posted this afternoon. Deloitte Conduit Law “is structured as a law firm” and “will practice in an affiliation with Deloitte,” explained Deloitte spokeswoman Caitlin Stidwill. “Deloitte Conduit Law has acquired the business of Conduit Law.”
