Carolyn Casey: Tennis at Stanford Started Her Career

Carolyn Casey says that Stanford University “changed my life”—and started a chain of change that has driven her career. She graduated Stanford with an A.B. in 1980, then earned her J.D. at American University’s Washington College of Law, and got her ticket in California. That’s just the start!

Carolyn Casey: From Zapproved to Consulting

Casey’s career journey began with tennis, then law firms, then legal tech—and then ultimately her own consulting business. I’m delighted to chronicle her fascinating journey, thanks to ALM’s Erin Harrison, Editor-in-Chief of Legaltech news. Harrison has invited me to continue the “STEM Cells” profiles of women in legal tech that I launched at Law Technology News—and I was thrilled to say yes!

So if you know women in our legal community who have embraced science, technology, engineering or math, please ping me at mbay@codex.stanford.edu and recommend them! And women, don’t be shy! It’s absolutely kosher to nominate yourself!

Let’s showcase successes so that girls, women and men can be inspired—and we can change the world!
