Fresh Intelligentsia: Education & Jobs
News and information of probable interest to the CodeX community….

• Yale Law School has named Heather Gerken as its first woman dean. Gerken, 48, will replace Robert Post on July 1.
“This is a time of change in the nation and in legal education, and Heather is perfectly situated to take the helm of this extraordinary place. She has the entire confidence of the school,” said Post in the announcement, noted Karen Sloan in her Law.com (ALM) article. (Courtesy photo).

• Ravel Law is presenting “Introducing Motion Analytics!” on Tuesday, March 14 @ 11:30 a.m. Pacific (2:30 p.m. Eastern). “Lawyers are exploiting surprising insights from Ravel as they craft strategy, pitch clients, and answer questions that were previously unanswerable,” the company says. “In this webinar we step into the world of data-driven litigation and show you how analytics work and how you can take advantage.”

• The Legal Writers Bureau has just been launched by Good2BSocial. It is designed to help legal companies and law firms find experienced writers and editors. (Heads up, start ups!)
The bureau includes many of my friends from ALM, who have written for and edited publications in the legal industry, including The American Lawyer, The National Law Journal, The New York Law Journal, Corporate Counsel, Law Technology News, and Law.com, among others.

Two of my former bosses at ALM —Kevin Vermeulen (now Partner and Chief Operating Officer) and David L. Brown (now Chief Content Officer) are heading up the bureau.
Disclaimer: I am participating in the bureau. Press release.
