Women of Legal Tech: Lauri Donahue

Today’s “Women of Legal Tech” series features Lauri Donahue of LawGeex: “From Atari to Israel.” (ALM’s Legaltech News.)

A member of the California bar, Donahue’s first job was working with her family’s roadside cafe in New Mexico. That was just the begining. She discusses why self-confidence is the secret to her success; the importance of not being pigeon-holed; and more.”

CODEX EXTRAS

Here are three bonus questions exclusive to CodeX.

Balancing tips: During many periods of my life it wasn’t balanced at all. When I was working on the Atari case, I was in the office from 9 a.m. until midnight for months.

When I started the Israeli office of an international company, I was often up at 3 a.m., messaging other members of my team around the world. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and get it done.

Dress codes? These days, I wear jeans and a sweater. You can wear pretty much anything you want in high tech.

Books that inspired you?  One-L inspired me to be a lawyer. In Search of Excellence made me want to be a manager. What Happens Next is an inspiring book about the history of screenwriting.
