CodeX Meeting: Jan. 25
I turn the mic over to Dr. Roland Vogl, Executive Director of CodeX The Stanford Center for Legal Informations — Monica Bay.

Hi Everyone,
Join us for this week’s CodeX group meeting at a special day and time: Friday, Jan. 25, from 3:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. pacific time, in Room N112 of the Neukom Building of Stanford Law School.
Our guest will be:
Julien Rossi, instructor and researcher, University of Amsterdam
Title: Data-Driven Legal Inference.
Abstact: We observe the State of the Art in Textual Entailment (SNLI, MNLI, BaBi, …), but see that the underlying models (RNN, Attention, R-Net, Transformer, BERT) fail to perform in the case of Legal Entailment. We want to close that gap, using a data-driven approach, taking the opposite to the classical approach of Legal Inference as a Logic Program Model. In this presentation, we’ll explain how we are starting our research, and what we expect further down the road. We will welcome all feedback, and opportunities to collaborate.
See you then!
Roland
