The Stanford Criminal Justice Center (SCJC) organizes a series called “Inside Justice” to give small groups of law students the opportunity to experience various aspects of and processes that comprise our criminal justice system. These opportunities include police ride-alongs; visits to local jails, state prisons, and juvenile detention facilities; and attendance at specialty courts, criminal sentencing proceedings, appellate hearings, and lifer parole hearings. For each trip, an individual faculty member leads the visit and debriefs with the group of students afterward. One visit will be scheduled per quarter. Stanford Law School students may sign up for no more than one visit per quarter and should be mindful of their class schedules so as not to conflict with class time. Academic credit is not available.

Professor David Sklansky will be leading the trip on Oct. 28.
