Locals who deal with voters on a consistent basis weighed in on the issue and spoke about causes and possible solutions to the voting dilemma.

The report based studies on two states – Kansas and Tennessee – and found voter ID rules reduced turnout by 1.9 percent to 3.2 percent over several elections in the two states. One of the researchers, Stanford law professor Nate Persily, said the 2 percent impact is more significant than he anticipated.
