Are you in the first generation of your family to attend college, law school, or pursue advanced professional studies? Do you identify as coming from a low-income family? We are FLI, the First-Generation & Low-Income Professionals at Stanford Law School, and we’ve been there. We understand that without a family member who’s navigated graduate admissions, this process can be confusing and even scary. We want to be a resource for as many FLI students as we can during the admissions process, so we are hosting an Ask Me Anything panel on October 7 at 3:00 P.M. PDT. You’ll hear the perspectives of fellow FLI applicants who were successful in their own admissions journeys, as well as get your questions answered to empower you on your own journey! Admissions will not be joining us on the call, and this panel will have no bearing on your application—we truly just want to provide you with honest help and advice on any topics you might like to raise. Dive in with the Admissions Deans
You’re invited to join us, Ann Perry and Faye Deal (the Admissions deans in the scuba gear above), on our upcoming diving expedition. No, it’s not an actual diving experience as noted in the image, but rather an exploration about all things law school admissions-related. Our goal is simple. We want to help you to explore the ways in which you can approach your application. We’ll tackle your questions and we’ll ask you some as well – all in an effort to make the process less daunting.
You may be wondering what brings Chicago and Stanford together in this collaboration. Why the two of us? We’ve known each other for a long time so that’s a good start. But beyond longevity and enjoying each other’s company, we have great respect for each other’s opinions and perspectives. And that makes for an excellent collaboration.
