Alvarez and Galloway Honored by Stanford Associates
Stanford Associates honored two Stanford Law School alumni this year, Fred Alvarez, JD ’75 (BA ’72), and Michelle Greer Galloway, JD ’89 (BA ’87), at an April ceremony.

Fred Alvarez, a partner in the Coblentz law firm, received the Gold Spike Award, Stanford’s highest honor for volunteer service. Stanford University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne conferred the award at the virtual ceremony, ticking off the many contributions Alvarez has made over his nearly four decades of volunteer service, including as a member of the university’s Board of Trustees and the law school’s Board of Advisors. Calling him an enthusiastic champion of Stanford University and Stanford Law School, Tessier-Lavigne noted the founding of the Stanford Law School Latino Alumni Association as “perhaps one of Fred’s most significant acts of service” to the university.

Michelle Greer Galloway received the Stanford Medal, which honors volunteer leaders with decades of distinguished volunteer service to the university. Galloway was noted for her “unparalleled commitment to Stanford in every project she champions and every partnership she fosters,” and her leadership at the law school, where she “is a trusted and sought-after advisor to staff and deans alike.” To view the ceremony, go to https://bit.ly/3cPHs1F.
