Join the American Constitution Society, University of Texas School of Law Professor Steve Vladeck, and SLS Supreme Court Clinic instructors Ed DuMont and Kendall Turner to learn about one of the hottest topics in Supreme Court litigation: the shadow docket.

Professor Vladeck, one of the nation’s leading experts in this area, will discuss what the shadow docket actually is and its history, the reasons for its rise, its disadvantages and advantages in particular circumstances, potential reforms to alleviate its negative consequences, and particularly recent developments. Students will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions following the main presentation.

Lunch will be provided in Crocker Garden at 12:45. We will then proceed inside so that Professor Vladeck can join us via Zoom from 1p-2p.
