Biography
Yasuki Takeda is an assistant judge from Japan, and a former Visiting Scholar at Stanford Law School’s Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program. His research at Stanford focused on the dispute system design especially for people without lawyers and access to justice in the US for self-represented litigants.
Yasuki has been working in several district courts in Japan over 5 years and has dealt with various types of cases (civil, criminal, juvenile offender, bankruptcy, etc.). While discussing with various parties and stakeholders as a judge, he became interested in better dispute resolution system (including court system) that would be accessible and useful to the general public.
Yasuki holds law degrees from Kyoto University Law School in Japan.
