Please join the Neukom Center for the Rule of Law in welcoming Justice Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz-Mena, Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of Mexico, as our next featured guest in our Rule of Law Speaker Series. During this event, Justice Gutiérrez Ortiz-Mena will discuss the Court’s role in defending the rule of law and the constitutional rights of minority groups in the context of an authoritarian presidential administration.

Justice Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a master’s degree in Law from Harvard University as a Fulbright-García Robles Scholar. From 1995 to 2012, he worked in private practice and in the Federal Public Administration. In November 2012, the Senate appointed Justice Gutiérrez as Associate Justice of Mexico’s Supreme Court. |
