Judge John B. Owens, JD ’96, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, will speak about his career in public service, including nearly 12 years as a federal prosecutor. Judge Owens rose to become chief of the criminal division at the U.S. Attorney’s Office (SDCA) before leaving to become a partner at Munger Tolles. He was nominated to the court by President Barack Obama in 2014. After graduating first in his class, Judge Owens clerked for Judge J. Clifford Wallace, (9th Cir.), and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
