Trevor Ezell, JD ’17, and Lowell Pearson, JD ’84, Tapped by State Governors To Serve as General Counsel

Two state governors recently announced that Stanford Law graduates would serve as their general counsel: Trevor Ezell for Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Lowell Pearson for Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe.

Ezell previously served as Abbott’s deputy general counsel. “Trevor Ezell’s experience practicing law at every level of state and federal government makes him the perfect fit to be our next general counsel,” Abbott said in a press release. As deputy general counsel, “Trevor provided critical advice on some of the most consequential legal issues Texas has ever faced,” Abbott added.

Pearson, most recently, was the office managing partner at law firm Husch Blackwell. Previously, he served as deputy director of revenue and general counsel to former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt.
