Todd Molz is the retired Chief Operating Officer of Oaktree Capital Management, where he oversaw the day-to-day management of the firm and its non-investment functions.

Over nearly two decades at Oaktree, Molz held several senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Administrative Officer. In those roles, he oversaw legal, compliance, internal audit, administration, fund formation, acquisitions, and other strategic and operational matters, advising the firm through a period of significant growth and increasing complexity.

Prior to joining Oaktree in 2006, Molz was a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles, where his practice focused on the tax and structuring aspects of complex and novel business transactions. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alfred T. Goodwin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Molz graduated cum laude from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served on the Law Review, received the John M. Olin Student Fellowship, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
