Biography
Alicia Thesing teaches lawyering skills to first-year law students. She also directs the Legal Research and Writing program. In 2022, Alicia was selected by the first-year class for the Barbara Allen Babcock Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Before this post, she trained second- and third-year law students in the practice of environmental law in Stanford’s Environmental Law Clinic. Early in her career, she was a deputy city attorney for cities including San Jose.
She is a graduate of Stanford Law School (JD 2000) where she won the Hilmer Oehlmann, Jr. Prize for excellence in legal research and writing and of Swarthmore College (BA 1993, music with concentrations in black studies and women’s studies) where she won the Melvin B. Troy Prize for best music composition.
